Cape May Brewing Co. Review: A Must-Visit Craft Brewery in Cape May, New Jersey
Stepping Outside Our Winery Comfort Zone
Have you ever been to a brewery before? Not just any brewery—but Cape May Brewing Co.?
A couple of weeks ago, while spending time in Cape May, we decided to switch things up from our usual winery visits and check out one of New Jersey’s most well-known craft breweries. Now, don’t get me wrong—we’re wine people through and through—but there’s something special about a well-crafted beer, especially one brewed right here in the Garden State.

First Impressions: Tasting Flights and Good Vibes
We started our visit with a tasting flight of four craft beers, and honestly, that alone would have made the trip worthwhile. The taproom atmosphere was relaxed, welcoming, and full of energy—exactly what you want when discovering new brews.
But we didn’t stop there.

Inside Cape May Brewing Company: Science Meets Craft
We opted for a guided tour of the brewery, and I’ll say this—I appreciate a cold, frosty beer more than ever now. I never fully realized just how much science, precision, and planning go into producing high-quality craft beer.
From fermentation tanks to quality control, every step plays a role in creating consistent, flavorful brews. It’s the same respect for process that we admire so much in winemaking.
The History of Cape May Brewing Co.
Cape May Brewing Co.’s story is just as impressive as their beer. What started as a basement hobby between two college friends and one of their dads eventually grew into a booming New Jersey craft beer brand. Today, their beers are enjoyed across the Garden State—and beyond.
It’s always inspiring to see a local passion project grow into a household name.

Four Simple Ingredients, Dozens of Unique Beers
Using just water, hops, grain, and yeast, Cape May Brewing Co. produces dozens of beers, each with distinct flavors and stories behind them. A few standouts include:
Cape May IPA – Named after America’s oldest seaside resort. Always Ready – A tribute to the brave men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard. Oktoberfest Lager – Brewed with grain sourced directly from Germany
Each beer tells a story, which makes tasting them even more enjoyable.
Why Even Wine Lovers Should Visit Cape May Brewing Co.
Even if you don’t consider yourself a “beer person,” Cape May Brewing Co. is absolutely worth a visit. Between the experience, the atmosphere, and the quality of the brews, this visit officially turned me into a craft beer fan.
And don’t worry—I’ll still be visiting plenty of New Jersey wineries in the months and years ahead 😉
